Gemma Donaldson: "Don't let self-doubt hold you back."

Recently, a group of qualified Metabolic Precision Specialists completed the Ab Factory Ultimate Role Model Challenge. Not only did they put themselves in their clients' shoes and make themselves fully accountable to us, but their “big reveal” performances were also live-streamed in front of 10,000 members in the MP page. This is their story.

Transformation Specialist: Gemma Donaldson

Before signing up for the Role Model Challenge,  I had just been ticking along and not making any real progress with my body.

I needed something that would challenge my level of commitment; something that would drive me forward and make me set and prioritise my goals. This challenge provided both a fear and fun factor that excited me.

This year I developed issues with poor gut health and digestion and I wanted to inspire other women who experience the same thing. The symptoms associated with poor gut health can cause women to feel less confident in themselves, especially when you’re having a bad day. It can seem overwhelming to pinpoint and control.

Gemma recommends setting a scary goal to keep you on track

Having the focus of the challenge meant my nutrition significantly improved and my bad habits were replaced with better ones - as a result I have been able to manage my symptoms and ‘flare ups’ much better than before.

Having a clear goal was imperative to my success. Any of the excuses that were previously preventing me from making progress soon disappeared when I had a goal that was a little scary. For example I trained when I didn’t want to, I food prepped when I least felt like it and I practiced my posing time and time again.

The purpose of the challenge was to reveal the results of 6 months’ commitment to the program. Initially I chose an outfit that deliberately covered the parts of my body that I wasn’t confident to put on show.

However, I learnt that by hiding away I wasn’t giving myself a strong reason to change. I was still covering the parts of myself that I didn’t feel happy with. I changed my outfit at the last minute and I’m so proud of myself for seeing this challenge through.

Don’t let self-doubt hold you back. Next time, I would commit to a scary outfit from the get-go!

Gemma xoxo
